hello everyone! (anyone? if you’re still out there!) I’ve decided to give this story one last try. I really love writing it, but lately I’ve just been way to busy to even think about simming – let alone story telling. But Kayton was always in the back of my mind, as was my loyal fellow bloggers. I am excited, and am almost done with a new post (finally!) I am ready to get back to a usual posting schedule, and get this story rolling!

First I’m going to get cracking on reading all of your stories, and expect new posts here within a couple days.

Thank you so much and hope to hear from you all soon. I’m very optimistic that this time I can keep to my word.

Hello, Stranger

May, Round 2: MacDonough family – mini update { featuring Blake (32), Mitchell (33), Claire (13), Sydney (13), Charlie (3), and Ace MacDonough (8 months) }

“No doggy go. Doggy stay.” Charlie clung tightly around Kris, one of the MacDonough family dogs. He dug his small face into the fur, feeling the comfort only a family pet can bring for one last time.

Claire bent down and pet June. “It’s only for a little while.” She was telling the dog, but really only trying to reassure herself.

And Sydney cried. She couldn’t stop the hot tears flowing down her face.

Blake watched all of this from the steps of her house feeling like a horrible, horrible mother. She felt terrible about giving up two of the dogs, and even worse about what it was doing to the kids. But, deep inside, Blake was pleased. For the first time in ages, she was putting her needs first. No longer was she sacrificing her happiness for others. She was finally able to get herself together, and found time to go shopping, and do her hair and makeup. She was happier than she’d been in a long time, and once the dogs were taken care of, the house would be less chaotic.

Blake was recovering.

She retreated inside once animal services arrived though. Even she, as self-centered as people assumed she was, couldn’t bear to watch them take two dogs away.

The weather was fitting, a dark, depressing grey sky blocked the sun, and a gentle drizzle was beginning to form puddles on the sidewalk.

Sydney and Mitchell, the lone remaining members of the MacDonough family, watched the animal services woman round up the two dogs and cart them into the car. “Don’t worry. We always manage to find good homes for the animals placed in our care.” she said, and with a wave, pulled away.

Sydney let the tears fall harder. “How… could… she… do… this…?” she sobbed into Mitchells shoulder.

“It’s for the best.” Mitch said in a hollow voice. “Don’t you want mom to get better? Be happy?”

“Yes.” Sydney hiccupped. “Yes, of course.” she paused. “But I want to be happy too.”

 Later that evening the phone rang.

“Hello?” Blake answered, hoping to hear a friend on the other line.

A few seconds of static greeted her, and then an older womans voice faintly floated to her. “… this damn cell phone. I don’t have a clue how to use it.”

Blake stayed on the line for a few more seconds, and then it went dead. She thought nothing of it, and slumped back to the living room.

But then she started to realize there was something she’d forgotten. Wasn’t something else important supposed to happen today?

Just as a curt knocked ripped through the foyer, Blake remembered.

Her mother was due to arrive that very evening.

And she was standing outside, hollering to be let in. “Come on, I’m standing in the rain! You’re gonna let me catch pnemonia and die!”

Blake opened the door, flinching.

“Hello, stranger.” Said her mother, otherwise known as Myrtle Fargate. “I haven’t seen you in a while. Miss me?”

* * * *

So Myrtle Fargate is Blake’s mom! If you don’t remember her, she’s the landlady of Tayton Triplex Apartments, and she is also the woman who Fallon threatened to get information about Samantha Bradshaw! The family of Myrtle’s he threatened to hurt was none other than the MacDonough family.

Since Mitchell and Blake are finally getting it together (or something) I took the liberty of giving them makeovers!

I trimmed and shaved Mitch, and gave them both something more suitable than sweats. Thanks for reading!

Exciting Ideas

May, Round 2- Todd household { featuring Shannon (32), Sandy (31), Hermione (13), and Annabelle Todd (4), as well as Claire MacDonough }

Sandy was sitting on the floor of the nursery, talking to her daughter Annabelle.

“Are you hungry, baby?” she asked.

“Bottle!” Annabelle shrieked, clapping.

Sandy giggled at her adorable toddler, who was growing up every day.

Meanwhile, in the room next door, her other daughter was doing some growing of her own.

“Ugh, my ass looks huge. I need to cut down on those collard greens.” she muttered, surveying herself in the mirror.

She headed over to the next door.

“Morning, mom.” she kissed her mother and picked up Annabelle.

“And good morning to you too, silly goose!” she said, kissing her sister as well.

“Honey, I’m going to jump in the shower. Can you please put your sister back in her crib and meet me downstairs for breakfast?” Sandy said, rising to her feet.

Hermione obliged, sliding her sister in the crib with one last giggle.

* * * *

A little over a year ago, her parent’s had gone through a rough patch. They’d grown more and more distant, letting the romance die little by little, until there was nothing but resentment and distance.

That was clearly no longer the problem Hermione thought dully as she ate her pancakes. The sounds of her parents kissing, touching, and whispering was making her sick.

“Can you two perverts keep it down?” she groaned, throwing down her fork. “Honestly, why can’t you two be normal and hate each other like Claire and Sydney’s parents?”

They pretended to not hear her, still gazing rapturously into each other’s eyes.

Hermione had blossomed into an outspoken, outgoing young adult who nearly always commanded the rooms attention. She wasn’t obnoxious, to be sure… but close.

“Oh, god, I’m getting out of here before I vomit everywhere.” she said dramatically, sliding off the stool and grabbing her books.

* * * *

When Hermione returned home from school that afternoon she raced upstairs and found her father and sister napping together in the master bedroom, and her mother at work, evidently.

“Thank god for that.” Hermione grabbed the phone and dialed the MacDonough house. “Can I speak to Claire please?” she said after Blake answered. “It’s me. Listen, it’s friday afternoon. Can you and Sydney come over? I’ve got some really exciting ideas.”

She could hear Claire jitter through the phone. “Excellent! Yeah, I’d love to come, but Sydney can’t. She has to babysit the boys while my dad and Blake go out.”

“Hurry, get over here before my mom comes home!”

* * * *

It was almost five o’clock when they arrived at the train station.

“Can you explain the plan to me one  more time?” Claire asked as they sat in the waiting room.

“Okay, were taking the six fifteen train to Maple City, and from there we are going to P.U.R.E. club. I stole my mother’s i.d.”

Claire looked horrified. “You’re thirteen, Hermione. Your mom is over thirty.”

“So?”

“No one in there right mind is believing that, fool!” Claire nearly shouted.

“Look, you’re always complaining that we never do anything grown up or fun. I’m just trying to try something new here.”

“And I’m all for it, but I mean… your mom?”

Claire continued to vocalize her doubts, even as they watched the train pull in on the platform.

“This is it!” Hermione jumped up. “You coming?”

And with a sigh of the worse, Claire followed Hermione onto the train.

* * * *

P.U.R.E. was in the heart of Maple City, and was already bustling when they arrived around seven.

“This is gonna be such a fail.” Claire whispered as they walked up to the door.

But it wasn’t.

Hermione was gracious and poised, acting well beyond her thirteen and three-fourths years as she flirted with the bouncer.

And before they knew it, they were whisked inside a real live, adult club.

Claire eyed Hermione enviously as she confidently strolled in, winking at some random guy. Meanwhile, Claire was cowed.

Soon it became clear though that the blaring music, flashing lights, and crowd’s energy was contagious.

Some of the Maple City people were so crazy Hermione and Claire couldn’t help but giggle.

As the night wore on, the girls found themselves at the electronic dance sphere, and Hermione eagerly clambered on.

“You got it girl!” Claire cheered from the sidelines.

Hermione screamed with glee as the sphere twisted and spin her this way and that.

“Your turn!” she exclaimed as she neatly dismounted it.

“Uh…” Claire couldn’t find the words to protest as Hermione shoved her in.

“I think I’m in trouble.” Claire warned.

“You’ll be fine!” Hermione reassured.

Not even a minute later…

“Yeah, I don’t think this is my cup of tea.” Claire said as she brushed herself off.

“I heard there are hot tubs on the roof!” Hermione gushed. “Let’s get in!”

Claire sighed with defeat. She had signed up for this, after all. “Alright, come on you big lezzie.”

* * * *

They ended up having company in the hot tub. An eighteen year old boy named Ian. Hermione had introduced them both as ‘Heather’ and ‘Blair.’

“Good one, Sherlock Holmes.” Claire muttered.

“What?”

“Oh, nothing.”

Claire was eying Ian more and more suspiciously as he eyed Hermione more and more seductively.

And she was eying back.

Hermione was overcome with excitement of the night. A bubble of happiness was filling up inside her. Not only had her plan worked, but she managed to get out of Kayton Square for the evening, dance at a real club, and meet new people, now she was about to get her very first kiss.

She had been dreaming of nights like this for so long, yearning for more than the dreary routine of suburban teen life. And now, it was actually happening, in front of her eyes.

“So, baby.” Ian whispered to Hermione. “Want to find some place quiet? Alone? Away from red at least?” he jerked his head to the corner of the hot tub, where Claire was glaring at them reproachfully.

“Hey, buddy, guess what?” Claire said through clenched teeth.

“What?”

“Red has some news for you. ‘Heather’ is thirteen!” she rose out of the water and pulled Hermione with her. “Goodbye, creep!”

“What did you do that for?” Hermione cried once they were across the roof.

“Hermione, that guy was sketchy in every way! He’s eighteen! For god sakes, you don’t want your first kiss to happen that way! You want it to be special, with someone you actually have feelings for!”

“Well excuse me for just trying to be a little mature. You guys are all such babies!”

Claire was angry now. “Babies?! In case you haven’t notice, Hermione, we are! You’ve been so busy trying to be all high, mighty, and mature, that you left all of your friends behind. And it’s time one of us finally says something. The make up, the short skirt.. it’s way too much, way too soon.”

Hermione faltered. Perhaps, she wondered, could her friends be right? Had she really been trying too hard to grow up, and pushed her friends away in the meantime?  She hung her head. “I’m sorry. You’re my best friend and I was out of control.”

Claire smiled. “It’s okay. After all, what would any of us do without you to bring a little crazy to our lives? Now come on let’s get our clothes on!”

They reached the chair where they had left their clothes. It was empty, clear as day. The girls spent a few minutes searching frantically, and finally had to admit defeat.

“We’re going to have to take the train in our bathing suits…”

They both found this to be an amusing end to an extremely amusing evening.

* * * *

Much late that night, when her Hermione was finally safe in bed, she replayed their adventures in her head.

She already had some more exciting ideas but next time, they’d be a little less extreme.

Just a little bit.

* * * *

Hermione has become an absolute joy to write about. She’s one of my favorites! In fact, I just can’t get inspired by Sandy and Shannon right now, and Annabelle is too little to really do much for the story, so Hermione’s spunk is kind of saving the whole family from slipping into townie oblivion, haha!

thanks for reading.
